Welcome to join the Academic Scout Guild’s November cabin trip, November 5–8, 2026! 🏠🍂🕯️

The cabin is called “Vienola” (https://www.turku.fi/en/outdoor-recreation-and-hiking/campsites ). At the cabin, we’ll relax in good company, enjoy good food, explore the surrounding nature, and take saunas. Activities at the cabin include various ball games and disc golf, rowing, and having an evening campfire. We’ll also organize outdoor activities.
The cabin is located at Peltolantie 211, Naantali. It has electricity and running water. Mattresses, pillows, and blankets are provided, but you must bring your own bed sheets and pillowcase. It is also possible to sleep outdoors near the cabin, and APK has a few tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping mats that can be borrowed upon request.

On Thursday, November 5, you can arrive at the cabin from 5:00 PM onwards. The cabin is approximately a 5 km walk from Rymättylä. You can get to Rymättylä by taking the Föli bus “N2,” which departs from Naantali (buses 6 or 6A run from Turku to Naantali). You can also arrive by car. We’ll coordinate possible carpooling arrangements and other details with participants later. On Sunday, November 8, we’ll leave the cabin around noon. You must purchase your own Föli bus tickets.

What to pack
-Waterproof and warm clothing for outdoor activities
-A change of clothes
-Bed sheets and a pillowcase
-A towel and a sauna seat cover
-A headlamp
-Personal hygiene products (e.g. a toothbrush) and any medication you need
-(Health insurance card)

Optional items
-Board games, card games, or outdoor games
-A compass and an insulated sitting mat for day trips
-Crocs or other lightweight shoes (e.g. for swimming)
-Snacks and treats
-A tent, sleeping bag, etc. (outdoor gear), if you want to sleep outside
-Phone and charger

The trip costs €40. Participation requires membership in APK, which costs €10. You can join here: https://www.partiokilta.fi/en/join-us/ . The cabin trip fee consists of the cabin rental and an estimated food budget, divided among the participants. You can also attend for a shorter period, in which case the price is €10 per day.

There are a limited number of places available! Registration closes on November 4, 2026, or when the trip is fully booked.
Registration is binding, and you must pay the trip costs even if you end up not attending, unless you have a valid reason to cancel (e.g. illness).
APK events are alcohol- and substance-free.

Are you tired of exams and the dark autumn evenings? Looking for a little break from everyday life and a chance to enjoy the outdoors with good company? 🍂 Join the Academic Scout Guild (APK) for a relaxed campfire evening at Vaarniemi shelter on Wednesday, October 28!

During the evening, we will build a campfire, relax, and spend time together in a cozy atmosphere. There will also be warm drinks and some snacks to enjoy by the fire. So, dress warmly and bring your sense of adventure – this is the perfect opportunity to take a break from studying!

The easiest way to get there by public transport is to take Föli bus 6A, which leaves Kauppatori at 16:54 and arrives at the Marsukatu bus stop. From there, it is approximately a 30-minute walk (2.6 km) to the end of Mastotie. The walking route follows Lemuntie, Torppalantie, and Mastotie. We will meet at the end of Mastotie at 18:00, and from there, we will find our way to the shelter together. Everyone is responsible for making their own way to the meeting point.

Please remember to bring weather-appropriate clothing, a flashlight, your own mug, and eating utensils. The event is free for APK members, while non-members are welcome to join for a fee of €5. Payment should be made to the Academic Scout Guild’s bank account:

Welcome to APK’s ice skating afternoon on Saturday 28.02.2026!⛸️❄️

Strap on your skates and get ready to glide! We are heading to the Kupittaa Ice Skating Rink for a classic winter afternoon on Saturday, February 28th. Whether you are a graceful pro or just trying to stay upright, come enjoy the fresh air and great company!

We’ll gather together to enjoy the ice, and APK will provide some light snacks and drinks to keep the energy high. Just a reminder to bring your own reusable cup for the juice to help us keep the event eco-friendly! Please note that the event will take place weather permitting.
We will all meet up at the Kupittaa park at 12:00 PM before heading to the rink together. The easiest way to reach us is by taking bus 22, which departs from the Market Square (City Centre) stop B7 at 11:38 AM. It’s a quick trip that gets you to the park just in time for the meetup.

What to bring with you:
Skates: You are welcome to bring your own, but don’t worry if you don’t own any—you can still join us and participate!
Helmet: Safety is a priority, so please bring a helmet if you have one.
Warm clothes: It’s a winter event, so dress warmly in layers!
Your own cup: Essential for the drinks.

The event is completely free of charge, so just bring your gear and your best vibes!

Welcome to APK’s Sauna and Ice Swimming Evening on Thursday 19.02.2026! 🔥❄️

We are heading to Ruissalo for a proper Finnish winter experience with warm sauna, refreshing ice swimming and great company. The event will take place in a public sauna owned by Saaronniemen Saukot https://saaronniemensaukot.fi/?page_id=176. Because it is a public sauna, there will be other people there as well and it is mandatory to bring a swimsuit. The sauna has an 8€ entrance fee that you will need to pay.

We will meet at the sauna parking lot at 17:00. You can get there by taking Föli bus 28, which departs from the Market Square bus stop A8 at 16:30. Hop off the bus at the bus stop “Iso-Pukintie”.

Since the sauna space is limited, we will limit the number of participants. Please register latest on 18.02, although the registration will close sooner if the spaces are filled. Only register if you know that you are coming, so that you don’t prevent others from joining!
